La familia Stomvi

“Pepe” its part of the Stomvi family since the beginning of the company in the manufacturing of instruments. Thanks to the team efforts that we are doing since many years we have improved highly the quality and versatility of our instruments.
He was born in Torrent, Valencia where he started his first musical studies. After that he began his studies at the High Conservatory of Music of Valencia in trumpet, afterwards he moved to Madrid for more studies in the Royal High Conservatory of Music. There he achieved an exceptional career and the highest scores; he also received the Extraordinary Honor Prize at the end of his studies.
At the same time José María taught together with Vicente Lillo, then he moved to Paris to improve his knowledge. He was the soloist at the Organ Hall of the National High Conservatory of Music, there they have teaches as Maurice André and Pierre Thibaud. Since then he attends to many international trumpet courses.
At 18 he played with the Municipality Band of Madrid and later he achieved the sub official chair at the State Chief Music Band. His many interests for music of our time take him to be a founding member and soloist of the “Gerhard Project”. José María is also founding teacher of the National Youth Orchestra of Spain and member of the National Brass Band.
José María combines his concert activities with teaching, is trumpet soloist in the National Orchestra of Spain and he is teacher at the High Conservatory of Music “Joaquín Rodrigo” of Valencia. He is invited as soloist for many orchestras around the world, he has tours around Europe, America and Japan.
He achieved the Golden Medal of Performing Arts and the Gentleman Cross of the Civil Merit Order, granted for his majesty Don Juan Carlos.
José is also artistic director of Stomvi, the Spanish company of trumpets, under his instructions they made the trumpet in E.
