Polish jazz trumpeter, composer, and doctoral student at the Ignacy Jan Paderewski Academy of Music in Poznań, where he conducts research on ethnic influences in trumpet performance techniques. He studied under Arve Henriksen and Maciej Fortuna, which shaped his sensitivity to sound and expression. He has released numerous albums both as a soloist and as a session musician, collaborating with leading artists of the Polish and European music scene.
In his playing style, one can hear a deep focus on the sound aspect of the trumpet. He explores a wide range of performance techniques – from quarter tones and extended techniques to electronic sound modifiers – always blending them with the traditional acoustic character of the instrument. He moves freely across genres: from jazz, free jazz, and experimental music, through electronic projects, to ethnic music.
As a co-leader of Unleashed Cooperation, he won the ZAiKS & STOART Award (Jazz nad Odrą 2020) and 3rd Prize (Jazz Juniors 2021). In 2025, the group performed at the official jazzahead! showcases in Bremen as the only Polish ensemble, with their concert highlighted by DownBeat magazine as “perhaps the event’s most pleasant surprise.” Rynkiewicz has also collaborated with projects such as Skalpel Big Band and Ulyanica, and his discography includes both original works and numerous ensemble recordings.
As a member of the Stomvi family, he plays the Stomvi Titan trumpet with a #27 copper bell, a special 130mm diameter bell, ML bore, leadpipe #1 and a brush lacquer finish, an instrument whose wide tonal palette and exceptional responsiveness allow him to fully realize his artistic vision and continuously expand the sonic possibilities of the trumpet. He also uses the Stomvi MaxiClapper, which – depending on the context – further enriches his sound.
